U.S. President Donald Trump spoke more on the reopening of schools in the country even as COVID-19 cases continue to increase, saying that while some school districts in coronavirus hotspots “may need to delay reopening for a few weeks,” they should be “actively preparing” to reopen.

He also said that if public schools don’t reopen, the funding should “follow the children” and allow them to go to other schools such as private or religious schools.

The U.S. remains the hardest-hit country in the world by the virus with over four million COVID-19 cases, according to John Hopkins University.
