PARKLAND, FL-Numbers are slowly starting to improve with lower daily cases across the state.

Total people vaccinated to date are 2,209,641 in Florida and 148,755 in Broward County. Per Governor DeSantis’ Executive Order, the vaccine can only be given to long-term care facility residents and staff, persons 65 years of age and older, health care personnel with direct patient contact, and persons deemed to be extremely vulnerable to COVID-19 by hospital providers.

The percent of positive results ranged from 5.55% to 14.52% over the past 2 weeks and was 7.77% on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. The percentage calculated is for people that test positive for the first time and does not include people that had previously tested positive.

Parkland Schools have a total of 91 cases through the latest data on January 23, 2021.

Here are the current COVID-19 numbers according to the Florida Department of Health as of Wednesday, February 3, 2021:

Florida: 1,744,619 total confirmed cases, an increase of 6,979 since yesterday. 

Broward County: 175,306 total confirmed cases, an increase of 627 since yesterday. 

Parkland: 1,884 total confirmed cases, an increase of 7 since yesterday. 

Coral Springs: 9,752 total confirmed cases, an increase of 40 since yesterday. 

Deaths in Florida related to COVID-19: 27,019 an increase of 197 since yesterday.  

Broward County: 8,268 (4.7%) total hospitalizations with 2,125 (1.2%) deaths due to COVID-19. Deaths increased by 6 since yesterday.  The median age is 39.

Broward County Percent Positive: 7.1% per the latest data on February 2, 2021.

Broward County Hospital Bed Availability: Hospitals have 990 (18.0%) beds available and 81 (16.7%) adult ICU beds available per the latest data on February 3, 2021.

Parkland Schools Total Cases According to the Latest Data Through January 23:

  • Heron Heights Elementary: 6 cases
  • Marjory Stoneman Douglas: 22 cases 
  • Mary Help of Christians School: 6 cases
  • Park Trails Elementary: 17 cases
  • Riverglades Elementary: 12 cases
  • Somerset Parkland Academy: 13 cases
  • Westglades Middle School: 15 cases
